4 WAYS TO USE THICKENING TONIC

GENIUS HAIR-THICKENING TRICKS TO TRY NOW

Peek into any Aveda Artist’s kit and you’ll be sure to find thickening  tonic, which is 97% naturally-derived~*, and includes ingredients such as amla, a fruit that helps thicken hair; and wheat protein to help boost thickening. Click here for a full list of ingredients.

While thickening tonic’s claim to fame is its ability to noticeably plump individual strands from roots to ends, nearly all hair textures can enjoy the benefits of this versatile styling product, making it a staple when Aveda Artists are on-set, backstage and in-salon.

Here are 4 ways tiy can use thickening tonic to create hairstyles at home.

Make Waves

To enhance natural texture, apply to damp or dry hair. Achieve waves while protecting hair from heat styling. Blow-dry on low heat, while scrunching and lifting sections of hair. This helps give the hair the right amount of texture and mild hold.

Apply Dry

Spritz on air-dried hair for instant bulk and messy texture. It adds just the right amount of grit to a ponytail or updo and gives second-day hair some stylish life.

Get Twisted

For fine-hair types looking for thickness, apply to towel-dried hair, and comb through. Divide the hair into two large sections along the center parting, twist each section, secure at the nape of the neck and diffuse dry. Release the twists and use fingers to gently separate sections.

Back It Up

For volume at the root, apply and gently backcomb at the crown. Flip the head forward and massage the scalp to loosen and blend the backcombing then finger-style as desired.
